About Templestowe Dance Academy

Templestowe Dance Academy is now in its 5th year and has well established itself providing classes through Doncaster and Templestowe to students of all ages and all styles. I have studied ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap for 21 yrs. I have attained the highest examinations in RAD ballet Grades and Majors, CSTD ballet, jazz and tap.
I have completed the RAD ballet teaching degree . Prior to this, I studied full-time at the Victorian College of the Arts at tertiary level - this course focused on Contemporary dance and Ballet and I was afforded many opportunities to work with some of Australia’s leading choreographers and teachers.
As dance is an art form which continues to evolve, I attend student / teacher classes and Continued Professional Development workshops to remain current within the dance industry. I also continue to dance in contemporary/lyrical projects with various artists across Melbourne
Over the past 3 years I have been participating in Pilates classes and instructor training which will assist me to provide specialised techniques for strengthening and stretching to all students.
I am now also a qualified Massage Therapist specialising in relaxation and sports massage.
This year I will be training in the new Contemporary examination syllabus to be introduced into Templestowe Dance Academy mid 2012.

Teachers
All of our teachers have studied dance at the highest full time levels in their fields and have much experience working in the industry and teaching.
All teachers have attained their Working with Children Checks.
TDA teachers are very open to working in conjunction with students and parents to individualise the service we provide. To improve communication techniques between teachers, parents and students we now administrate via email and have a Facebook page which can only be accessed by school members.
